Georgia football released a new hype trailer for the “Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry.” This week’s narrator is Scott Sinclair, Georgia director of Strength and Conditioning. The theme for this week is “eat off the floor.” A motto Kirby Smart and the Georgia program adopted from the New Zealand Rugby team All-Blacks.  However, Smart changed the motto from “Sweep the sheds” to “eat off the floor.”

Georgia might need an “eat off the floor” mentality this week as it goes on the road for the first time this season to Jordan-Hare. Many in the national media believe that the Dawgs could be in for a four-quarter battle with the Tigers, as the Dawgs are only 14.5-point favorites. I believe otherwise, but that is why we play the games. The game will be televised on CBS at 3:30. The primetime slot in the SEC.

Thank you who decided we needed the narration back in these hype trailers! The past few have been exceptionally well done. This week’s trailer made me want to run through a wall. Anytime you show Herschel Walker running through Auburn and Larry Munson’s famed “hunker it down” call, I am ready for some football. So, a job well done by the UGA crew that put this together.

Georgia and Auburn began playing football against each other in 1892. The game was played in Piedmont Park, and Auburn won 10-0. Georgia and Auburn have traded blows for 131 years. The rivalry up till recently was pretty even; at one point in the last decade, it was tied up.

Georgia, since 2002, has gone 17-5, and the Dawgs have won 11 out of the previous 13 matchups. Georgia is on a six-game winning streak against Auburn, which started in the 2017 SEC championship. That is the second longest win streak in the series; Georgia from 1923-1931 won 9 in a row. With a win Saturday, Georgia would surpass Auburn’s longest win streak in the series, which lasted from 1953 to 1958. Georgia looks to add to the winning streak against Auburn and its 20-game winning streak this Saturday.
