It is week six for Georgia football and the rest of college football. We are now at the halfway point of the CFB season. I still do not have a read on a single team yet. No team is head and shoulders above anybody else. Is it Texas, or is it Washington? Can Georgia be that vulnerable? Week 6 is a decent  SEC slate this season, so enjoy it, folks!  It is time for the weekly picks for college football. Last week was a disastrous week for this blogger. At some point, I will get this all right. I have been as cold as a polar bear’s toenails for the past two weeks. 8-11 is the record for picking out the correct winners. I just need three games! If you have ever seen the film Two for the Money starring Matthew McConaughey and Al Pacino (Shout out to Stu Feiner). Then you will understand I do not have the gift so I will flip a coin on some of these. Without any further ramblings, here are the best bets in week 6

LSU vs. Mizzou (+5.5) over/under 64.5- Ceasers

  • Date: October 7, 2023
  • Game Time: 12:00 pm
  • Venue: Memorial Stadium/Faurot Field(Columbia, MO)
  • How to Watch: ESPN
  • Streaming on fuboTV

Do you want to talk about a fall from grace? LSU has been one of the more disappointing teams in CFB this season. Then you have the other Tigers, the undefeated Tigers of Missouri. Mizzou has been one of the better storylines of the year. Brady Cook looks, finally, like the QB they needed, and Luther Burden is the man ( I wish Georgia got him).

I have picked LSU in both of their losses. I thought LSU would be the team Georgia played in the SEC championship. I thought they could threaten the national title. I’m wrong, well, maybe. LSU must win for them to be in the SEC Championship in December. So, this game is a massive game for the Bayou Bengals. Mizzou is a fake 5-0 team; they have not played anybody. They could prove me wrong, but I like the LSU Tigers and the over in this one.

Alabama vs. Texas A&M (+1.5) over/under 46.5- Ceasers

  • Date: October 7, 2023
  • Game Time: 3:30 pm
  • Venue: Kyle Field(College Station, TX)
  • How to Watch: CBS

Who is Alabama? Who is Texas A&M? These two teams have been the two most challenging teams to pick all season. I have no idea what to make of either one of these teams. Honestly, this is a coin flip in my mind. Do I trust Jalen Milroe? Do I trust the lefty Max Johnson? Again, I have no answers. Here is the thing: Bama has a better defense than the Aggies. Bama’s defense has impressed me with how well they have played after the Texas game. But Alabama is going on the road in a hostile environment, so who knows how they will play.

Jimbo Fisher needs this more than he needs his next breath. This is a massive moment in Fisher’s tenure as the head coach of the Aggies. If they can win, he might save himself from getting fired. A&M would be in the driver’s seat in the SEC West standings. This is the biggest game of week 6. This game has major SEC and CFP implications.

Remember the Kentucky vs. Florida game last week? Kentucky was a 1 point favorite at home, and they ran all over the Gators. So, Vegas is trying to tell us something here. So, I will take the Aggies in a low-scoring knockout, drag-out fight. Plus, I like that A&M QB is a Lefty named Max. How can I pull against the guy? Also, Max Johson is the nephew of Mark Richt and played at Occene High School in Athens, so there is your Georgia connection. Aggies and the under.

Oklahoma vs. Texas (-6.5) over/under 60.5- Ceasers

  • Date: October 7, 2023
  • Game Time: 12:00 pm
  • Venue: Cotton Bowl (Dallas, TX)
  • How to Watch: ABC
  • Streaming on fuboTV

It is called the Red River Rivalry. Do not add any other name to it! It’s not a shootout or whatever 2023 politically correct term you put on it. Also, this is an SEC game; we all count it as an SEC game. This game is what college football is all about. It is in the Cotton Bowl stadium, a top 5 stadium. During the Texas State Fair, with that big Cowboy in the front. It is everything great about the sport we love. Too bad it is moving to a conference, it does not belong in. I do not know how many times Oklahoma and Texas have both been undefeated going into this game, but it makes the game more interesting than it is. I think the Sooners are a fraud. Their record is lying to us, and the media puffs them up because they are the Oklahoma Sooners. Texas is a real team that has been tested on the road. I like the Longhorns big in this game. But this game is always weird. So Texas to cover and the over to hit. It might be closer than expected in the 3rd quarter.

There you have it, the best bets of week 6. Make sure to keep an eye out for the Georgia and Kentucky preview. Georgia is going to surprise some people out there. Does that mean it is a good thing or a bad thing? Look Friday for the preview and find out. Anyway, hopefully, I go 3-0, and I will return to being .500. The gambling gods are a fickle bunch, so hopefully, they are in my favor.

Hot. One stat that proves Georgia will beat Kentucky. light
