Georgia football got off to a hot start against the Kentucky Wildcats. Finally, they did it after begging the offense to get to a fast start! Georgia won the game 51-13, and everything seemed to go right from the start.

The story of the game was the offense, but let’s start by talking about the Defense. Kentucky only managed to get 13 points and 183 yards of total offense. After last week’s game, I and many other Georgia fans were panicked over the defense’s inability to stop the run.

Kentucky ran for over 300 yards on Flordia last week, and many worried they would do the same to the Dawgs. Kentucky could not get anything going on offense. Kentucky only scored off of two drives, one from a turnover in the third quarter. The other scoring for Kentucky was in the first half, when they received most of their yardage from questionable penalties. I will not complain about the refs; I just won’t do it, so quit asking! Kentucky had only 55 yards rushing against the Dawgs defense. 55 yards! Do you want to talk about a bounce-back game for the defense?

Anyway, I cannot say enough about the defense. They played up to the expectations that we had in August. We all thought this defense could be elite, and they finally looked the part!

Speaking of looking the part, how about that offense? Something happened on the Plains of Auburn last week because Mike Bobo created the Greatest Show on Grass tonight. Carson Beck showed that he is the next outstanding UGA QB. Beck was 28-35, with 389 yards passing and four touchdowns.

However, Brock Bowers keeps showing the country he is the best college football player. You can have Penix Jr from Washington as your leader for Heisman, but Brock Bowers is a close second. Nobody is asking me, but Bowers is my leader for the Heisman. Bowers just makes the offense go, and not many tight ends in football history can say that. Bowers might be the best player for Georgia since Herschel Walker.

Let us talk about another thing: where are all the Bobo and Carson Beck haters? They were everywhere last week; where did they go?  Look, I have been critical at times of some of the identity of this Georgia offense, but I never thought it was Mike Bobo’s fault. Speaking of things I have been critical of, the offensive line played a fantastic game.

The O-line underperformed all season, given how talented they were. But tonight, they showed what many believed they were capable of. All the way around, the offense played great at every position.

All this week, I kept asking when Georgia would gel and show they are elite. Well, tonight was finally the night they showed they were elite. This team could be remarkable if it continues to build on what they did tonight. I cannot express how happy I am about Georgia’s performance tonight. Well, there are two words, two simple words, that express the sentiment of my happiness: Go Dawgs!
