It is now week 7 for Georgia football and the rest of the college football world. Where has this season gone? For months, we looked forward to the start of the college football season, and now it is almost over. I hate it. I don’t hate the change of weather lately in the south. Finally, after months of battle, the heat and humidity retreated further south.  It is now feeling like a fall. The leaves are starting to change, and the night and early mornings are cool. It’s pure football weather, the way it was intended to be.

Last week was a gut-punch week for this blogger. I did a horrendous job picking three games! I went 1-2, making me 9-13 overall of the year. I am down four games from .500. Can I have a bounce back? Can I even finish close to even by Thanksgiving? People are talking, and I don’t feel too good. Hopefully, something breaks my way. Alright, enough about feeling sorry for myself; let’s get to work.

Florida vs. South Carolina  (-2.0) over/under 52.5- Ceasers

  • Date: October 14, 2023
  • Game Time: 3:30 pm
  • Venue: Williams-Brice Stadium or the world’s largest parking lot (Columbia, SC)
  • How to Watch: SEC Network

It is now “CockTober.” Did I pick this game to write that out and publish the word “CockTober”? Yes! But October has been an excellent month for the Gamecocks for the past few years. Can they repeat the same magic as they did last October? I think South Carolina can. I think the Gamecocks are the better team in this matchup. They are at home, and they are playing one of their rivals. This game should be called the Steve Spurrier Bowl, and the winning team should get a trophy that is the likeness of the Old Ball Coach. I mean, what are we doing here, guys? Get it done!

Florida sucks, and Billy Napier is trying to survive this season to make it to the next one. I don’t know how they were even ranked. Just because they beat Tenessee at home does not make the Gators a good football team. Did you see what Kentucky did to them? So, as Flordia’s bye week and the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Patry looms, I expect the Gators to be in this game late. This is a hungry dog runs faster type of game. Vegas thinks the same as well. So, I will take the Gamecocks to win because they are at home and have the better QB. Do not be shocked if the Gators come inches away from victory only to choke it.

Texas A&M vs. Tennessee (-3.0) over/under 55.5- Ceasers

  • Date: October 14, 2023
  • Game Time: 3:30 pm
  • Venue: Neyland Stadium (Knoxville, TN)
  • How to Watch: CBS
  • Streaming on fuboTV

This is a loser leaves town game. A&M Season is on life support; it is barely alive. Tennessee cannot afford another SEC loss, or it cripples their chances of winning the SEC East. Jimbo is on the hot seat, and Vols fans will put someone on the hot seat if they lose. These are the types of games I love. The fear, anxiety, and desperation lingers in the air while I, a Georgia fan, can relax after crushing Vandy. What time to be alive!  Look, Tennessee is not a good football team. They are extremely flawed. Everyone wants them to be good again, but they will finish with about 3 to 5 losses on their season. 3 is being optimistic if we are being honest here.

The Aggies are the better team; they have a better defense and better lines of scrimmage. So why are the Vols favored in this one? Because it is in Neyland. The Aggies need this one in case Bama drops two SEC games, which is entirely possible. If A&M loses this one, their hopes of winning the West are over. So I will take the Aggies not only to cover but to win. They are the better team. However, every time I pick A&M, they lose. So whomst among us knows.

Missouri vs. Kentucky (-2.5) over/under 50.0- Ceasers

  • Date: October 14, 2023
  • Game Time: 7:30 pm
  • Venue: Kroger field (Lexington, KY)

A few weeks ago, this game looked like the marquee SEC game. Both teams lost last week but still have a shot at the SEC East. I highly doubt either of these teams will be in Atlanta for the SEC Championship, but second place to Georgia isn’t bad when talking about Kentucky and Missouri.

After getting boat-raced by Georgia last week, I am unsure what to make of the Wildcats. Are they as good as everyone thought they were? Going into the game last week, I knew that the main complaint by Kentucky fans was that the wideouts and QB look on two different pages. I thought it was a little overplayed, but then, on Saturday, I saw it for myself. Yikes! But Kentucky plays smash-mouth football and did not do that last week against the Dawgs. So will they return to form on Saturday?

Luther Brunden III is that dude for Mizzou. He should be in the Heisman conversation with Brock Bowers. Brunden makes that tiger offense go, and they would not be where they are without him. I think Mizzou has a really good offense but has an awful defense. Kentucky is the more well-rounded team on paper. The reason why I am going with the Wildcats is because they are at home. So, I will take Kentucky to win, but I expect it to be close.

Alright, so there are week 7’s best bets. Hopefully, I can win at least two of the three; that is all I am asking. I have been so bad this year that it hurts. Also, there are some honorable mentions that I am going to include. If I win, I will count them. Arkansas +20, Auburn +11, Notre Dame -3. I do not expect the Razorbacks or Auburn to win outright, but I expect them to cover the spread. Arkansas +20 is easy money; I almost feel I am being set up.

As for the Dawgs, they are a 31.5-point favorite against the Dores. Big spread to cover, but read my post about predictions on the game Friday. Enjoy the weekend, and let’s all hope the Braves win in 5.

Trending. Dawgs have a defensive streak on the line Saturday. light
