Georgia football takes on the Vanderbilt Commodores this Saturday. The game will be played at noon and broadcast on CBS. I don’t know when was the last time Vandy was on a CBS broadcast, but it has been a while. Georgia is a 31.5-point favorite in this one and is expected to crush the Dores.

I know nothing about Vandy because I have watched three games for 25 minutes. I won’t waste your time writing about what the Dawgs must do to beat Vandy. Here is my analysis of the game. The Dawgs need to get on the bus to get to the stadium, arrive early to warm up, and then take the field. There you have it. Georgia has to show up.  I can very easily see the Dawgs sleepwalking through this one. It will be an odd environment that the Dawgs are walking into.

First, Georgia is playing in a construction site. Second, there will only be 20,000 fans in the stands, which is the capacity on a given Friday night in Valdosta. The majority of the fans will be Georgia people. It will just be a weird atmosphere. Here is what we all want to see from the Dawgs.

Offensively, we want to see last week’s game all over again. I want Mike  Bobo to call pass plays to set up the running game. I want Brock Bowers and Carson Beck to pad that stat lineup against the Dores’ defense. Most Heisman voters only look at the numbers, so we need the dynamic duo to pad that stat line to deceive voters. Furthermore, Georgia must be able to pull its starters by the third quarter. The Dawgs are going into the bye week and do not need any more banged-up guys. Also, I love Ladd McConkey, but I am okay with him not playing this game and saving his back for Florida. This week and next week are all about beating the Gators. So, I am on board with whatever we have to do to make that happen.

Defensively, I need to see two things. One stopping the run. I do not mean just the D-line stopping it when I say that. I mean the entire front 7 clogging the running lanes and crushing the Dore’s hopes of moving the ball. The next thing I need to see is not letting Vandy have any explosive plays. In the three games I have watched of Vandy, they have explosive plays. Most of their explosive plays come from the passing game, so I want to see the defensive backs hold steady against a pretty talented wide-out room. When I say pretty talented, I mean for Vandy.

This is the last game until Georgia plays tech the outcome is inevitable. I want to see the Dawgs execute and get out of this game. I do not need the stress of having another critical contributor hurt or a four-quarter ballgame. My little heart can not deal with that. So, let’s get out of here with the W and feel good about ourselves going into the bye week.

Alright, now it is time to make predictions. I predicted the Braves to win the World Series, and that was wrong. I am still upset about the Braves; I must type through my feelings; I am sorry. My best bets of the week of stunk to high heaven. Can I get a score prediction right?

Here is some information that I found interesting. Vanderbilt has not scored a touchdown against Georgia in 5 years. Five years! What a crazy statistic. It will be unlikely that the Dawgs do it for six years in a row, but who knows? It is Vandy, however. So, I predict that Vandy will get 6 in the game. The Dawgs win 59-7.
