Georgia football takes on Flordia in the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party this Saturday. With the news of Brock Bowers’s injury, many believed Georgia was due for a loss. Some believe that Florida is going to pull off a program-defining upset. Florida fans (not the brightest bunch) believe that Bowers was the only reason the Dawgs have any game, and many think they will beat the Dawgs. But, Vegas as the Dawgs, still the favorites to win the title, and Georgia opened up as a 17-point favorite against the Gators.

Now, the line has dipped to at some sports book to 14.5, still in the favor of the Dawgs. I don’t know if that was the public bettors or the sharps. But I would not be surprised to see the point spread trend to a higher number. Last year, the Dawgs were favored by 23 and did not cover that spread. However, in 2021, Georgia was a 14-point favorite and not only covered the spread but did so in a dominant fashion.

I am one of those Georgia fans who believe the Dawgs will likely win this one by more than 17 points. I am probably in the minority regarding the Georgia fan base. To be truthful, I still think the Dawgs are more than capable of winning a national championship, and they will likely be undefeated as well. Again, I think I am in the minority with that opinion.

But back to WLOCP. Georgia is vastly more talented than Flordia, and stylistically, the style Flordia plays is not conducive for them to beat the Dawgs. I could be wrong, and it is only Monday! Plus, I give my picks out on Friday, so I have time to change my mind.

I spoke to some Georgia fans and shared my thoughts on the line and my early expectations for the game. I am not ashamed to say that I was stunned that the Georgia fans I spoke to thought the Dawgs would win but not cover. I argued and tried to talk some sense to them, but they refused my suggestions. Furthermore, one Georgia fan thinks the Dawgs will lose a game, and the three-peat may never even get a chance!

I know I talk a lot about the Larry Munson negativity that plagues our great fanbase, but this is over the board! Florida is not the boogie man anymore; Georgia is the better team. Georgia has the better players, and they have the better coaching staff. Everyone needs to take a Zoloft and look at this with logic! Florida is not a good team. The Gators still need to win a game to get to bowl eligibility. Their season outside of the Arkansas game will be a challenge for them. They will likely finish the season 6-6 or 5-7. Everyone needs to relax. Georgia is going to be okay in this one. We should all panic for the Mizzou game, not Florida.

So talk your talk online and hate Flordia with every fiber in your body. The Dawgs are two-touchdown favorites for a reason!
