Georgia Football crushes Florida 43-20. Man, that first touchdown the Gators scored, I was a little nervous about this one. What did Georgia do? Score 36 unanswered points. What a beautiful game from all fronts! The Dawgs made a statement and said that they were still the top Dawgs in college football.

Before I get into the analysis of the game, please talk about how all the national pundits were wrong about this one. The college football world thought Georgia would barely escape or lose this one. How will they move the goalpost on this one?

I even saw Heather Dinich say this week that Georgia would not be the number-one team when the first College Football Playoff rankings come out. What does she think now? Probably the same! Anyway, rankings do not matter until December rolls around.

But let’s get back to the game! Nothing is better than being a Georgia Bulldog after you just whooped up on Florida. The offense had one of its best games this year. I know they did not hang 50 on the Gators like they did Kentucky, but still, it was a great game.

First and foremost, the Dawgs did not turn the ball over. To me, that was my biggest concern going into the game. Georgia turns the ball over every time in opponent territory. However, it was the Gators turning the ball over. The strip sack from Tyrion Ingram-Dawkins swung the game momentum, and the Dawgs’ offense capitalized.

Carson Beck threw for 315 yards and two touchdowns. Moreover, Beck was 19 of 28 on his passing attempts. Beck was 67% on the day. There were a lot of questions going into this game and really into the season surrounding Beck. But we have the answer: Carson Beck is that “guy” and should be in the Heisman race.

I am sure people will be up in arms over that, but he is the real deal! Also, the Dawgs converted 6 of the 12 third downs they faced. The Dawgs remain one of the better teams on third down on both sides.

Furthermore, what a game by Dominic Lovett and Ladd McConkey.  People kept asking what the Georgia offense would look like without Brock Bowers. Looks pretty good to me. McConkey had six catches and went for 135 yards and one touchdown.  Oscar Delp finished third in receiving yards with two catches for 31 yards.

Speaking of incredible numbers, the running backs had another great game. Daijun Edwards ran the ball 15 times for 96 yards, and Kendall Milton ran the ball for 13 carries and 55 yards.  Both had touchdowns, but Edwards had two. Georgia has a team that ran for 171 yards. The Dawgs averaged 4.5 yards per rushing attempt. Great job by the running backs, but also a shoutout to the offensive line. This was the most complete game the line has had since Kentucky.

If the Dawgs continue to play like this on offense for the rest of the year, it will be hard for anyone to touch them.

The story of the game for me was the defense. Outside of that first drive, the Dawgs defense played lights out. The Dawgs only allowed 109 yards, and many rushing yards came in garbage time. The Dawgs created havoc, forcing a turnover and almost getting another strip-sack in the game. Graham Mertz threw for 230 yards through the air, but again, a lot was on the second and third-string defenders.

But the story of the game was third down. The Gators only converted 4 of the 11 third downs they faced. The one thing I and many others pointed to before the game was the Gators’ third-down conversions against the best third-down defense in the country. The Dawgs won that battle. The Gators were also 0-2 on 4th down. Just to add insult to injury.

Overall, it is just a great day to be a Dawg. Georgia silenced many of the doubters this week. But I am sure starting Wednesday of next week, there will still be doubters.

Furthermore, it was a historic day for the Dawgs. This is the first time in school history that the Dawgs have beaten Florida by 20 points or more for three straight years. Florida is experiencing what the Dawgs had to endure in the 90s. I hate that for all those people down in the Sunshine State! It was a great game by the Dawgs on all three phases, but they have to do it again next Saturday to inch closer to winning the SEC East.

Hot. Prediction and thoughts on Georgia vs. Florida. light
