Georgia football fans have proven in the past they can be as intimidating a home crowd as there is in the country, and the Bulldogs will need that on Saturday when the No. 14 Missouri Tigers come calling.

Missouri may be the biggest surprise team in the SEC right now, sporting a 7-1 overall record and a 3-1 conference record, with their only loss this year coming at home against LSU in Week 6.

This will be the Bulldogs’ final SEC East game at home in 2023 and a win over Missouri will be a huge step to locking up the division for Georgia again.

Last year, head coach Kirby Smart implored Bulldog fans to raise it to another level against Tennessee when a possible SEC Championship berth was on the line.

That kind of ferocity will be just what the Dawgs need after another emotional win against arch-rival Florida in the Cocktail Party. Beating the Gators is always euphoric for Georgia, but it’s also easy to let down a little after a big rivalry game.

Georgia fans can affect the game much like they did against Tennessee last year when the Vols committed seven false start penalties courtesy of the Bulldog Nation. Throwing off the timing of an offense as fast as Missouri’s will be a big factor.

Missouri will be the highest-scoring offense Georgia has faced to date in 2023, coming in at 33.9 points per game. They also have the No. 17 passing offense in the nation, throwing for 294 yards per game. This is an area where Georgia has looked somewhat suspect at times this season, and the Tigers will do their best to exploit that perceived weakness.

Beyond causing problems for the opposing team, there’s no argument that the Bulldogs play a better and more focused game when the fans in Sanford Stadium are engaged, and loud!

The game is sold out but tickets are available from secondary ticket vendors such as StubHub as well as on Ticketmaster.
