3 Georgia football players who could have monster games vs. Missouri
By Josh Yourish
Carson Beck, QB No. 15
Last season against Missouri, Stetson Bennett and the Georgia offense struggled, especially early in the game. Missouri got out to a 16-0 lead and the Bulldogs didn’t score their first touchdown until the fourth quarter, trailing 22-12. Bennett finished the game 24/43 for 312 yards with no touchdowns.
This year, Beck hasn’t played quite as well as Bennett last year, but against Missouri, Beck is primed to outplay this predecessor. On the season, he’s averaging 9.4 yards per attempt and completing 73% of his passes. He’s thrown for 2,462 yards with 14 touchdowns to just four picks.
The Bulldogs are fourth in passing offense, throwing for 334.2 yards per game, and as a team are 15th in yards per attempt at 9.2. Last week, Beck threw for 315 yards and two touchdowns on Florida.
It’ll be easier for Beck this week because Missouri ranks 64th in pass defense, 101st in completion percentage allowed, and 114th in 20+ yard passes allowed with 32 given up across eight games.
Big plays will be available to Beck and he’s no stranger to taking a shot downfield. Offensively, Georgia is ninth in 20+ yard passing with 38.
