Prior to Brock Bowers getting injured against Vanderbilt, he was beginning to enter the Heisman Trophy discussion. Analysts and media members all over the nation chimed in to voice their support for the Georgia tight end at least being one of the top contenders.

After the injury and the subsequent news that he would most likely be out for the remainder of the regular season, those Heisman hopes were dashed.

Georgia fans were of course disappointed that they wouldn’t have a Heisman finalist for the second consecutive year, and even those outside Athens expressed dismay at not being able to see Bowers play again.

If there was any question as to how dominating Bowers was before his injury, it was squashed by this stat presented by PFF after the Week 10 games had been completed.

That is an unreal representation of just how much Bowers means to Georgia, and just how much separation there is between him and every other tight end, not to mention many wide receivers, in the nation.

Will Bowers be back for a postseason run? Unknown at this point, but all signs are pointing to him working his tail off to make that happen.

Even without him on the field, Brock Bowers is there with his team every week, cheering them on and providing the kind of support and leadership that will make him an exceptional NFL player.
