SEC quarterback power rankings (How high did Carson Beck climb?)
By Josh Yourish
SEC QB rankings No. 1: Jayden Daniels, LSU
- Passing yards: 2,792
- TD: 27 INT: 4
- Comp: 72.1%
- YPA: 11.3
Yes, Alabama beat LSU on Saturday. No, it had nothing to do with Jayden Daniels’ performance. He was great again and led all SEC quarterbacks in QBR in Week 10. He went 15-24 passing for 219 yards with two touchdowns and a pick, only his fourth all season. That was a good day, but his 163 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries made it remarkable.
Hopefully, Daniels can return from the hit that sent him into concussion protocol in the fourth quarter because he’s been the best statistical quarterback in the country this season. it’s a shame how bad the defense is in Baton Rouge because this offense is historically great.
Daniels leads all quarterbacks in the nation in QBR at 93.1 and EPA at 83.9. The next closest quarterback by expected points added is Liberty’s Kaidon Saiter at 67.5. Second in the SEC is Carson Beck at 60.8.
Not only has LSU’s 100th-ranked defense robbed the team of a shot at the College Football Playoff, but it is also robbing Jayden Daniels of a Heisman Trophy. Daniels is a significant underdog to Michael Penix Jr. and Bo Nix in most sportsbooks.
