SEC QB rankings No. 13: Ken Seals, Vanderbilt

  • Passing yards: 1,018
  • TD: 9 INT: 4
  • Comp: 59.9%
  • YPA: 7.2

Despite quite a few turnovers, sophomore AJ Swann was performing better at quarterback prior to his elbow injury. Now, Vanderbilt is stuck with Ken Seals in his senior season. Seals didn’t play at all last year but got substantial runs in 2020 and 2021.

Now, as a veteran, Seals was expected to keep the offense afloat while Swann is out, but that hasn’t happened. Swann was last among regular SEC starters in QBR this season at 34.9 and in Week 10 Seals checked in well below that mark at 19.8 in the loss to Auburn.

Seals has 10 plays this year that Pro Football Focus has graded as turnover-worthy, more than double his interception total. Seven of those 10 have come against pressure and he is averaging just 5.4 yards per attempt when pressured. That ranks 16th among the 17 SEC QBs with at least 15 pressured dropbacks.
