SEC QB rankings No. 11: KJ Jefferson, Arkansas

  • Passing yards: 1,802
  • TD: 16 INT: 8
  • Comp: 65.2%
  • YPA: 7.2

There was a time when KJ Jefferson was throwing to Treylon Burks and Arkansas looked like a real contender in the SEC. That time is long gone. Arkansas beat Florida in Week 10 behind 255 passing yards and two touchdowns from Jefferson, but that 39-point performance from the Razorbacks offense is looking like an outlier.

This is his third year as a starter and he has his lowest completion percentage, yards per attempt, and most interceptions of his career.

His ability to use his legs seems diminished too. Jefferson ran for 4.5 yards per carry in 2021 and 4.1 last season but is down to averaging 2.3 yards.

Arkansas made an offensive coordinator change in its bye week before beating Florida, so if Jefferson bounces back in the last three weeks, we’ll know who was to blame for the down year. For now, it seems like Arkansas’s quarterback has regressed in a big way.
