Georgia football: 6 players who (probably) won’t be back in 2024
By Josh Yourish
5. Carson Beck, Junior
After three seasons of Stetson Bennett, Beck still feels like a fresh face for Georgia fans. Yet, Kirby Smart could be looking for another quarterback next season.
Beck’s production has been elite this year. Through nine games, he has completed 72.2% of his passes for 2,716 yards and 16 touchdowns with just four interceptions. He’s averaging 9.2 yards per attempt and is 10th in the country in QBR.
After just one year as a starter, Beck could be off to the NFL. He has NFL size and an NFL arm, but his lack of experience could keep him out of the first round. Still, there are a lot of teams that need a quarterback and one of them just might fall in love with Beck, especially if he carries Georgia to a championship.
If Beck does return, that could mean Brock Vandagriff moves on. The Georgia quarterback room is already crowded and next year five-star QB Dylan Raiola will show up in Athens and further complicate things.
