November 24, 2012: Todd Gurley and Aaron Murray crush Georgia Tech in Athens

This may have been one of Mark Richt’s best Georgia teams, and when Georgia Tech came rolling into Athens, the Dawgs were ranked No. 3 and looking forward to a date with Alabama in the SEC Championship Game.

Some thought Georgia might get sloppy and overlook a Georgia Tech team that had struggled all season, but Aaron Murray was laser-focused for this one.

Georgia scored in just four plays on their first drive and then forced a fumble on Georgia Tech’s first possession. The Dawgs never looked back and Aaron Murray barely had to work up a sweat, with Todd Gurley rushing for 97 yards and two touchdowns on just 12 carries.

This would be Georgia’s fourth consecutive win against Tech, and the eleventh in 12 prior meetings. A stretch of real domination by the Bulldogs.
