November 25, 2017: Georgia rumbles over Jackets en route to first College Football Playoff appearance

2017 was actually the beginning of what’s now become a dynasty of Georgia success, and Georgia Tech stood squarely on the tracks as the Bulldogs rolled their way to an appearance in the College Football Playoff and eventually, the National Championship Game.

The feared trio of Jake Fromm, Sony Michel, and Nick Chubb absolutely owned the Jackets, with Georgia putting up 471 yards of offense, while the Georgia defense limited the vaunted triple-option employed by Georgia Tech to just 226 yards.

The game was crucial to keeping Georgia’s playoff hopes alive, and the lopsided score and domination by the Dawgs gave the committee one more reason to include Georgia in the final four teams.
