Jake Scott (DB). 8. player. 59. . .

Georgia: 1967-68

NFL: 1970-78

Teams: Miami Dolphins, Washington Football team

Accomplishments: 2x Super Bowl Champ, Super Bowl VII MVP, 5x Pro Bowl, 2x All-Pro

At Georgia, Scott was an All-American and 1968 SEC Player of the Year but was only selected in the seventh round of the NFL draft by the Dolphins.

Miami got its money’s worth and more for that selection. Scott made the Pro Bowl in his second year with seven interceptions after posting five picks as a rookie.

Scott’s greatest moment came as a part of the undefeated 1972 Miami Dolphins. He secured the undefeated year with two interceptions in Super Bowl VII in the 14-7 win over Washington and won Super Bowl MVP.

. Hines Ward (WR). 7. player. 55. .

Georgia: 1994-97

NFL: 1998-2011

Teams: Pittsburgh Steelers

Accomplishments: 2x Super Bowl Champ, Super Bowl XL MVP, 4x Pro Bowl

Hines Ward did it all while at Georgia, played quarterback, running back, and wide receiver, and he did it without an ACL in his left knee. That concern dropped Ward to the third round of the NFL draft where he was selected by the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Ward defined what it was to be a Steeler for 14 seasons, not only as a great pass-catcher but as an elite and ferocious blocker. Ward’s best receiving season came in 2002 when he caught 112 passes for 1,329 yards and 12 touchdowns.

While in Pittsburgh, Ward was a part of three Super Bowl runs, and won twice. Ward was the Super Bowl XL MVP with five catches for 123 yards and a touchdown.
