Nobody was a fan of the College Football Playoff committee this past season. That was even the case with Georgia football, who ended up finishing No. 2 in the committee's final rankings this past season.
But SEC fans had the most issues with the committee last season by far because they were not valuing how difficult it is to win in the SEC as the conference has the most difficult schedules every single season in all of college football.
The greatest example of the CFP committee not valuing the SEC's strength of schedule is when Kirby Smart and Georgia lost on the road to a top 15 Ole Miss team and somehow dropped 9 spots in their rankings. On the flip side, Ohio State lost at home to a five loss team and only dropped a couple spots.
Who knows why the committee doesn't value strength of schedule, but the latest data showing projected strength of schedules for the 2025 season explains why the committee needs to respect the difficult SEC schedules a lot more.
Now that 2025 CFB schedules are officially set, here's the projected top 40 for SP+ strength of schedule.

Georgia and the SEC deserve more respect
According tho the above graphic, the SEC will have 12 of the 13 most difficult schedules during the 2025 season. The one non-SEC team (Wisconsin) plays a non-conference game at Alabama this season, so that explains why they were able to crack the top of this ranking.
Georgia comes in towards the bottom of the SEC teams at No. 13 on this list, but the 13th most difficult schedule is no joke. The Bulldogs will have to play Texas, Alabama, Tennessee and Ole Miss once again this season, as well as Florida, Auburn and Georgia Tech who all project to be better than they were in 2024.
Hopefully the CFP committee sees this data, because it is about time the SEC and Georgia get the respect they deserve for the difficult schedules they play every season.
