3. Austin Peay fails to score
Georgia is a whopping 48.5 point favorite against Austin Peay. The over-under for this game is also set at 55.5 points, so this shows that Vegas expects the Governors offense to struggle to put up any points. And that is exactly what is going to happen.
Holding any opponent to zero points, even a team from the FCS, is a huge deal. It is an especially big accomplishment after considering how much time Georgia’s backups will end up playing in this game.
Kirby Smart spoke earlier this week that he cares far less about stats compared to developing his younger players. That’s why he didn’t care that Marshall scored a late touchdown last week because he was able to give his inexperienced players a lot of playing time. So once Georgia gets up big against Austin Peay, Smart will start putting all of UGA’s backups in.
That will make it far more unlikely for Georgia to hold Austin Peay to zero points, but the Bulldogs defense will come through this week and pitch a shutout regardless.
