Georgia football is officially back. The long offseason is finally over and the Bulldogs are ready to kick their season off at home inside Sanford Stadium.
Making accurate predictions for the first game of the season is very difficult to do, so why not try to get extremely bold and try to predict who will dominate Marshall on Saturday? So let's dive right in, beginning with a big performance from Georgia's new starting quarterback.
1. Gunner Stockton throws 4 touchdown passes
Gunner Stockton does have one start under his belt, but this has the feel of his first true start at Georgia. Since it is still so early in his career, it is hard to have high expectations for him in this game even if it is against a team like Marshall.
But Stockton has sat back all offseason and listened to everyone outside of Athens proclaim that he isn't good enough to lead Georgia this season. So what is he going to do against Marshall? Throw four touchdown passes and shut all the naysayers up.
2. Zero turnovers
No matter how good any team is entering the start of a new season, their first game can be a little sloppy. So it is almost assumed that Georgia will have at least one turnover as they learn how to play with each other during a real game.
That won't be happening this season. The Bulldogs will escape their season opener against Marshall with zero turnovers, which will be an impressive feat even though they are the much better team.
3. Georgia's defense records 8 sacks
Georgia's defensive front is a group that has a lot of questions to answer this season. The Bulldogs lost multiple players to the NFL this offseason from their defensive line, so it remains to be seen who will step up in their place.
But Georgia's defensive front will answer every question that's been thrown their way by tallying eight total sacks. This includes at least two sacks for Christen Miller and two from five-star true freshman Elijah Griffin as well.
