Kirby Smart has undoubtedly turned the Georgia Bulldogs into a pipeline for NFL talent. With the list of current NFL players that were once Bulldogs growing, some prominent names are starting to hit lists of the league's most coveted free agents. In this off-season's edition, three former Bulldogs were mentioned in a ranking of the 110 best players in free agency on FanSided.
George Pickens - No. 2 overall
George Pickens being ranked so highly on this list should surprise absolutely no one. After showing some promise during his time in Pittsburgh, Pickens immediately made himself into a real threat to any defense upon his arrival in Dallas. What was supposed to be a relationship that made him wide receiver two turned him into the leading receiver for the Cowboys and third in the league in that category.
Dallas decided to give Pickens the franchise tag this season to be able to negotiate a long-term contract, but Pickens will undoubtedly be an expensive contract to be able to bring back.
Nakobe Dean - No. 32 overall
Though he still remains unsigned, Nakobe Dean should be a top prospect for any team needing a MIKE linebacker right now. Dean proved himself as a leader and a sure tackler during his time in Athens while notably winning the Butkus Award in 2021. Teams have likely shied away from him due to some injury concerns he has had so far in the NFL, but he still has plenty of promise left in his young career.
Quay Walker - No. 36 overall
People do not need to overlook Quay Walker despite being lower on this list. Walker is arguably the most proven defender that has come from the 2021 National Championship team, having at least 100 tackles in each of his first four seasons in the league.
Without any injury concerns himself, Walker will probably reel in a pretty sizeable contract in free agency as a sure starter.
