The Associated Press celebrated its 100th year of existence by anointing a first and second team consisting of some of the greatest collegiate football players of to their All-Time All America team.
Georgia football was heavily featured on this list with two Bulldogs named to the first team and one to the second team.
Herschel Walker is a no-brainer 1st teamer
It shouldn't be a surprise that this Dawg great made the list, as he is arguably the most dominant player at the running back position in the history of college football.
Herschel Walker was an All-American three separate times at Georgia in 1980, 1981 and 1982. Over his three years in Athens, he tallied 5,259 yards on 994 carries, good for an astounding 5.3 yards per carry and 52 touchdowns.
There are dozens of records that Walker holds at UGA, but some of his most impressive single-season records include 1,891 yards rushing and 20 TDs in his 1981 campaign.
Brock Bowers also made the first team on offense
Brock Bowers was a phenom at the tight end position from the moment he set foot on the field as a freshman in 2021 against Clemson. The rangy Bowers revolutionized the position with incredible size, speed, and athleticism, making him impossible to cover for defenses.
The two-time John Mackey Award winner was a unanimous All-America team selection in 2023 after catching 56 balls for 714 yards in just 10 games.
Champ Bailey is the lone defensive Bulldog to make the team
Two-way stud Champ Bailey was named to the second team on Thursday. He was selected as an All-American in 1998 and is widely considered one of the most elite athletes not only in Georgia football history, but in the history of college football.
Bailey was playing both corner and wide receiver before current players like Travis Hunter were winning the Heisman Trophy doing it.
Blessed with great speed and fluid body control, Bailey made playing both ways look easy.
