As always, the Georgia Bulldogs have been loaded with talent in 2025. Experts and fans alike could tell from the beginning of the season which players were likely to stand out. However, there were a few players that stood out that many did not see coming.
Three players in particular had major breakout campaigns during the 2025 regular season that will heavily impact their future not just with Georgia, but potentially the NFL.
1. RB Chauncey Bowens
Everybody expected Nate Frazier to be the main guy after his amazing season as a true freshman in 2024. Although he was still the star running back fans predicted him to be this season, freshman Chauncey Bowens led the team in rushing yards all the way up until the Mississippi State game this year.
Bowens exploded onto the scene getting carries early. In a loss to Alabama in September, Bowens had 119 yards on 12 carries. Due to some minor injuries his carries have started to decline this season, but he still ended the regular season with over 500 rushing yards, good for second on the team just behind Frazier.
2. LB Quintavious Johnson
Quintavious Johnson is a name that not many knew before the season started. In fact, he did not get much meaningful playing time until about November. Once he finally hit the field, it was impossible to take him off.
Johnson finished the season with two sacks along with 33 tackles, with both of those sacks and 15 of his tackles coming in November alone. Johnson has made the most of his opportunities as a sophomore and will be a sure starter next year due to his level of play this season.
3. LB Chris Cole
Chris Cole is another sophomore linebacker in this group of Bulldogs that has stepped up in a major way this season. Cole was a little more recognized before the season and got playing time early, however, he still has come on and done things beyond expectations for Georgia.
He finished the regular season with 4.5 sacks and 53 total tackles. In those categories, he was fourth in tackles and led the team in sacks. In times where CJ Allen was banged up or needed help spanning across the field, Cole has been that guy this season.
