Georgia football has had quite the week when it comes to winning major postseason awards. Most recently, linebacker Jalon Walker won the 2024 Butkus Award, which goes to the nation's best linebacker. Also, Georgia had 14 difference selections to the three All-SEC teams earlier this week as well.
Fast forward to Thursday and it's time to see who on Georgia made the All-SEC Freshman team, and the Bulldogs three selections will likely surprise no one.
RB Nate Frazier
Running back Nate Frazier was one of the most important players on the entire team this season. Three running backs above him on the depth chart went down with injuries all at the same time, so he was thrust into the starting role much sooner than anyone ever expected.
Thankfully he did extremely well in that role, and helped keep Georgia's offense afloat until more reinforcements returned.
Frazier finished the season with an impressive 634 rushing yards and eight touchdowns, which was more than good enough to earn him this honor.
LB Chris Cole
Linebacker Chris Cole was the second Bulldog named to the All-SEC freshman team.
Cole finished his first season at Georgia with 16 tackles and an impressive two fumble recoveries. Now he may not have seen as much playing time as Frazier and the third Bulldog up next, but when he was on the field it was clear how great of a player he already is.
Cole is definitely a player to watch closely throughout his time at Georgia. Walker was the third player under Kirby Smart to win the Butkus Award, so it is clear that Cole will be developed very well over the next few years and has the chance to become one of the best linebackers in the country.
DB KJ Bolden
Last but not least is defensive back KJ Bolden, who is coming off one of the best freshman seasons in the country.
This year, Bolden racked up 54 tackles, one sack, one forced fumble and an interception. Bolden showed all season long that he will be the next great defensive back not just at Georgia, but in the entire country.
It was surprising earlier this week when Bolden was not named to any of the three All-SEC teams, but that might just be the extra motivation he needs to take his game to the next level this offseason.
