The Georgia Bulldogs are seeking revenge against the Alabama Crimson Tide as well as a chance to win an SEC Championship on Saturday. This team is no stranger to revenge games as they have gone 3-0 in the Kirby Smart era when playing in a rematch from a previous loss in the same season. One of those games came against Alabama when Georgia claimed their first National Championship in over 40 years in 2021.
For Georgia to continue that streak on Saturday, the Bulldogs need three players to step up in a major way.
1. RB Nate Frazier
Nate Frazier started off the regular season slower than many expected. It was not until after his big game against Mississippi State a few weeks ago that he led the team in rushing yards.
Against Alabama, freshman running back Chauncey Bowens stole the show with his rushing performance. Now it is Frazier's turn to make a difference. With Frazier having much better production in recent weeks, expect him to do tremendously better against the Tide this time around.
2. WR Zachariah Branch
One of Georgia's top-performing transfers, Zachariah Branch has been the guy for Gunner Stockton as the season has progressed. In September, Colbie Young got the majority of touches. Now that Young has been hurt and out for the season, Branch has been the leader of Georgia’s receiver room.
Branch needs to step up in a big way this game and help Stockton out. If he is not able to perform at his best on Saturday, it could be a long game for the Dawgs.
3. LB Chris Cole
Chris Cole's best game of the season is arguably in that loss to Alabama in September. In that game, Cole accounted for five tackles along with a sack. Georgia is going to need Cole's presence to affect the quarterback in a similar way in the SEC Championship game.
With CJ Allen back healthy and Raylen Wilson improving as the season has progressed, Cole will have some opportunities to get to the quarterback with less attention being put on him. So expect Coke to have another big game against the Tide on Saturday.
