When a program is successful, they have to deal with key losses every year. No different can be said about the Georgia Bulldogs in 2026.
It seems every year under Kirby Smart that one position or another has to undergo a complete rebuild and new players are asked to step up. With so many either leaving for the NFL Draft or the Transfer Portal, three guys in particular have the opportunity to rise above the rest in 2026.
Sacovie White-Helton
The loss of Zachariah Branch will be extreme in Athens. It is hard for any team to recover after losing their leading receiver, especially when said receiver had more than triple the amount of receptions as the next leading pass catcher. However, Sacovie White-Helton has what it takes.
White-Helton was a name called upon when Colbie Young was injuried and more depth was needed at the position. The redshirt freshman has a similar build with a high level of quickness that translates to what Mike Bobo liked to use Branch for. Saying White-Helton will have the same level of production as Branch would be a reach. However, don't be surprised if at one point or another in the season he becomes Gunner Stockton's go-to guy.
Rasean Dinkins
Rasean Dinkins is a name that only the most committed and die-hard fans knew of before the season started. In the midst of five stars and experienced players, the four-star freshman found his way to the field. Despite all the odds against him, he totaled 13 tackles on the year. Now with Joenel Aguero transferring to Ole Miss and Jacorey Thomas leaving for the NFL, Dinkins will be relied upon more than ever in 2026.
Juan Gaston
Early on in 2025, Georgia faced a lot of adversity on the offensive line. Due to injuries early in the year, Juan Gaston got playing time as a true freshman. While not many expected to see him so soon, he did not let the opportunities go to waste.
Gaston's large 6'7", 360-pound frame could not go unnoticed. With key players like Monroe Freeling and Earnest Greene leaving for the draft, a major shakeup is expected on the offensive line. It is hard to imagine Gaston would not be a name to hear frequently in 2026 for prestigious award watch lists.
