It’s time for Georgia football to start looking like the team we know they can be.

Georgia football has reached the halfway point of their season as they welcome the Mississippi State Bulldogs to Sanford Stadium. Georgia enters the game 4-1 and No. 5 in the country, but if you’re anything like me then you have a lot of concerns floating through your mind.

Thankfully this game against MSU should be an easy win, but that doesn't mean there aren't important keys to the game. This time I’m going to share some keys that are important for Saturday’s game, but are also potentially more important for the outlook on the rest of the season.

1. Start fast

One of the biggest issues with Georgia this season is their incredibly slow starts. Through their first five games, Georgia is only averaging 4.2 points per game in the first quarter. That equates to 17 points scored in the first quarter, with 14 coming against lowly Tennessee Tech.

A slow start in the first quarter against Alabama is probably the reason Georgia lost that game. The Bulldogs found themselves down 21-0 after one quarter which is too much to ever realistically expect a comeback. Yes Georgia still put themselves in a position to win, but imagine how much easier it would have been had they started fast.

So this is something I want to see Georgia do well against Mississiopi State. A quick start against MSU would eliminate any outside chance they have at an upset. But most importantly, a solid first quarter will help Georgia build some confidence in themselves going forward.

Georgia won't be able to afford to start slow against some future opponents, so they need to fix this problem now when they have the luxury to play against a struggling team like Mississippi State.
