Georgia football's season came to an abrupt end in the Sugar bowl with a loss to Notre Dame. The season fell short of expectations, but the Bulldogs showed true grit and a championship mentality until the end. However, the offense didn't look great this year on all fronts.

With the season being over, the Bulldogs have a lot of work they need to do to get ready for next season. But arguably the position they need the most help on is the offensive line as they have lost four starters so far this offseason. The only starters potentially returning on the offensive line would be Monroe Freeling or Earnest Greene at left tackle.

On the bright side, Georgia's offensive line doesn't lack talent due to excellent recruiting from Kirby Smart and his staff. The offensive line room has some promising freshmen coming into the program including Cortez Smith and Juan Gaston who could compete for some playing time.

However, it is a big ask to expect young, inexperience lineman to step in and be dominant in the SEC on a week-to-week basis, so it might be in the staff's best interest to do a little shopping for a couple of veterans to add to the room. It would create a competitive environment to push the group to get better and create dependable options to possibly change to throughout the season.

So here are three potential targets in the transfer portal that Georgia should think about pursuing.

Possible Portal Targets Georgia could entertain

1. Will Reed OT, Princeton

Will Reed is a three-star transfer offensive tackle and is currently being recruited by Georgia Tech, Arizona, Virginia Tech.

2. Trevor Mayberry IOL, Stanford

Trevor Mayberry is a three-star transfer interior offensive lineman and is currently being recruited by Virginia Tech and a few others.

3. George Fitzpatrick, OT, Ohio State

George Fitzpatrick is a three-star transfer offensive lineman who played in nine games this season that could be another good option for Georgia to target.

The transfer portal is currently closed, so players are unable to add their name to the portal. Unfortunately, the majority of highly ranked Power Four offensive lineman have already committed to their new schools, so the Bulldogs may want to go through spring practice and see how everyone gels before possibly checking in with the portal again. But if they need to add some talent now, then these would be three great options to take a look at.
