2. Hometown team

Curtis is from Vanderbilt’s backyard in Nashville, TN, so there is a good chance he grew up a fan of the Commodores. Most of his life Vanderbilt has been a horrific football team, so he probably never had any interest in playing there, but that no longer is the case.

Those negative feelings towards Vanderbilt likely changed with the NIL era as Vanderbilt has turned into a respectable program over the last two years. This includes finishing 10-2 this season and making themselves a fringe College Football Playoff contender.

So now that Curtis has seen Vanderbilt at their height, he knows he can find some success there. And since the Commodores are going to just barely miss the playoff this season, Curtis probably wants to be the player to finally lead them into the playoff for the first time in program history and maybe even win the SEC along the way.
