3 takeaways from Georgia football’s messy win over Florida
3. DJ Lagway gave Georgia's defense fits
Speaking of Lagway, he, and the rest of the Florida offense, really exposed Georgia's defense during the first half.
Lagway brought a very unique style of play to this game, one that is not very common in college football. We see quarterbacks who are effective runners all the time because of how elusive they are, but Lagway was able to be effective on the ground with his physicality. That style put Georgia on their heels, which made the rest of the offense operate very efficiently.
Lagway was also able to hit some big passes as well, showing that he was able to be a true dual-threat QB against Georgia.
As mentioned, this quarterback style is not very common, but it is something that will be intimidating if Georgia has to face it again. So if UGA is going to make a run to the SEC championship game and College Football Playoffs, they either need to find a way to stop a QB like Lagway or just hope they don't face another the rest of the season.
