3. Confidence in a CFP run increased and decreased at the same time

The overall takeaway when looking at Georgia's College Football Playoff hopes is that they likely don't stand a chance at winning it all. After this win, they are essentially a lock to make the CFP regardless of what they do next week in the SEC Championship game, but with how this team is playing, nobody should be confident Georgia wins a national championship.

Every team Georgia plays the rest of the season will be better than Georgia Tech. So that fact alone is scary because Tech nearly pulled off this upset in Sanford Stadium. But there is a part of this game that does weirdly make me more confident that Georgia can win it all.

The Bulldogs never gave up. Even some of the fans gave up on team and left the stadium early, but this team never gave up. Georgia Tech dominated UGA the entire first half, and late in the fourth quarter is still seemed impossible for Georgia to win.

But Kirby Smart and Georgia did what champions do and put their heads does and kept fighting. And eventually they were able to connect on a few punches that wobbled Georgia Tech, before Nate Frazier landed the knockout blow in the eighth overtime to win the game.

That resiliency is impossible to teach, but this Georgia team has it. And that is going to go a long ways when Georgia finds themselves in a battle in the CFP in a few weeks.
