Florida got off to a hot start in their season opener by taking down Long Island 55-0. To be fair, this is exactly what Florida was supposed to do to a team like that, but they do deserve credit for handling their business.
Quarterback DJ Lagway wasn't at his best in this game, but it's likely the Gators held him back because there was no need to risk an injury from the star player against a team like Long Island. But every Georgia fan should remember how dominant Lagway and Florida's offense were last season in their annual rivalry matchup.
If it wasn't for Lagway going down with an injury, Florida potentially could have won last season. So based on that fact alone and how hungry the Gators are this season to finally beat UGA, Florida is a team that can 100 percent prevent from Georgia from winning the SEC.
