3 ways the CFP committee’s perception of Georgia can change this weekend

2. Consistent play from Georgia's offense

One of the biggest gripes from the CFP committee about Georgia this season is their lack of consistency on the offensive side of the ball. It is hard to disagree with them on that because this has been Georgia fans biggest complaint this season as well.

But Georgia's offense is coming off one of their better performances of the season last week when they beat Tennessee. The Bulldogs scored 31 points against a good Tennessee defense and did not turn the ball over once. Carson Beck also had potentially his best game of the season when he completed 25 of 40 passes for 347 yards and two touchdowns.

So if Georgia wants to change the CFP's perception of them this weekend, they need to have another stellar performance on offense. That is the expectation when going against a team like UMass, but if the Bulldogs' offense can look elite for the second game in a row, then the CFP committee may start believing in this team more.

And with Georgia still a ways away from earning a high enough seed to host a first round playoff game, this point is crucial in reaching that goal.
