3. Help from around the country

The last way that the committee's perception of Georgia can improve this weekend is with some outside help from the around the country. Assuming Georgia handles their business and dominates UMass, the results from other CFP teams can impact how the committee views Georgia as well.

The big game on everyone's radar is in the Big Ten when No. 5 Indiana takes on No. 2 Ohio State on the road. At this point everyone knows that Ohio State is legit, but the same can't be said about Indiana. Even though the committee loves Indiana for some reason, they have not played one quality opponent yeat this season.

So if Indiana goes to Columbus and gets destroyed by Ohio State, they could very easily fall behind Georgia in the CFP rankings if not completely out of the 12-team field.

This is the only game where someone ranked in front of Georgia is guaranteed to lose, but what if other teams in front of Georgia loss or struggle against bad competition? Florida just took down LSU last weekend and play Ole Miss on Saturday, that is definitely a game that Ole Miss could lose that would allow Georgia to move up in the rankings. Notre Dame also takes on undefeated Army which could present some challenges for the Irish as well.

There is even a chance that a major upset happens in front of Georgia as well, like Minnesota beating Penn State or Wake Forest taking down Miami (FL).

So while Georgia just needs to focus on themselves and handle their business against UMass, what happens around the country with the rest of the CFP teams will impact how the committee views the Bulldogs as well.
