Georgia remained perfect this season after their 38-14 win over Vanderbilt. A 24 point win in the SEC is always a good thing and there were many performances worth celebrating, but this was hardly a win to be too excited about.

Here are three winners from Georgia's victory over Vanderbilt along with two losers who could've done better.

The 3 winners from Georgia's Week 5 win over Vanderbilt

Georgia QB Gunner Stockton

Gunner Stockton potentially had the best game of his season. He had complete control of the offense from the opening drive and finished the game completing 25 of 32 passes for 295 yards and three touchdowns. Stockton also ran the ball seven times for 22 yards, but most importantly he never relied on the run to move the offense down the field.

The biggest area Stockton needed to improve on this season was his deep ball. He not only needed to become more accurate, but he needed to be willing to take more shots down the field. He has been much better in both areas all season, but against Vanderbilt he was willing to push the ball down the field whenever he could and fit some balls in tight windows.

This is the type of performance Stockton needed to build his confidence before playing at Alabama next week.

Georgia DB Ellis Robinson

Georgia's defense overall didn't have their best game (more to come on that), but Ellis Robinson proved why he is regarded as a potential first round pick at next year's NFL Draft. He has had a couple impressive interceptions over the years, but his pick against Vanderbilt may have been his best.

At this point it's a bit silly for any team to think they can throw his way, but Georgia should be happy whenever they see the ball heading his direction. Next week will be a big test for Robinson against Alabama, but he has excelled in big moments his entire career and there's no reason to think he won't against the Tide.

Georgia's pass catching depth

We already talked about how good Stockton was passing the ball, but his receivers and tight ends deserve some praise as well. The Bulldogs might still be looking for a true go to target this year, but they had 10 different players record a reception which includes two of their running backs as well.

Georgia was actually led by running back Dwight Phillips who had five receptions for 75 yards and one touchdown. Landon Roldan also got loose for a 55 yard reception and a touchdown on a separate catch as well. Lawson Luckie had one big catch and Elyiss Williams was active with a touchdown of his own as well.

Georgia clearly has plenty of depth at wide receiver and tight end to succeed, but it would still be nice if they had one player emerge as their top option in the passing game.

The losers from Georga's win over Vanderbilt

Georgia's 1st half defense

It was a tale of two halves for Georgia's defense against Vanderbilt. They pitched a shutout in the second half and played about as good as they could, but their first half performance was arguably the worst half they've played all season.

Georgia's secondary gave up a few too many big plays in the passing game and had some costly penalties. They even gave up a 60 yard touchdown which was the longest play they've allowed yet this season. Georgia's defensive line also struggled to get to the quarterback and didn't generate enough pressure.

The good news is that Georgia bounced back in a big way in the second half to get their confidence back, but it may be hard to win a game against a good team if they play as bad as they did in the first half.

Vanderbilt QB Jared Curtis

Vanderbilt starting quarterback Jared Curtis did not play against Georgia due to injury. This isn’t a shot at him because if he was injured then Vanderbilt was right to not play him, but he falls in the “losers” list because of what his absence took away from this game.

Curtis infamously flipped from Georgia to Vanderbilt right before signing day last year. Today’s game was supposed to be an opportunity for revenge, but they unfortunately weren’t given an opportunity. Curtis also is one of the most talented quarterbacks in the SEC, so it would’ve been a great test for Georgia to face him in this game.

Georgia will hopefully get their chance to play Curtis in the future, but for now this was a missed opportunity for some revenge and a good test for UGA's defense.
