Georgia football's season ended much sooner than anyone wanted after losing to Notre Dame 23-10 in the College Football Playoff, but there is still so much to be proud of about this team. It may be hard to be happy with the season right now, but after a few days pass most Georgia fans will likely look back on this season in somewhat of a positive light.

So what are the reasons why this season shouldn't be viewed as a failure? There are four major reasons why this year wasn't a failure and why Georgia fans should be excited about the future of the program.

1. Won the SEC Championship

The obvious reason why this season wasn't a failure for Georgia was because they won the SEC Championship over Texas in the beginning of December. And the way that they won the game made it even better.

Georgia lost Carson Beck on the final play of the first half, which meant backup Gunner Stockton got thrust into the spotlight. And Stockton and UGA shined in the second half en route to their come from behind victory against the Longhorns.

So even though Georgia's season fell short against Notre Dame, this championship is something that UGA fans will be able to look back on fondly for as long as football is played at Georgia.
