Georgia football and Kirby Smart worked extremely hard during the last month on the recruiting trail after their season came to a crashing end against Notre Dame. While those efforts haven't been rewarded with many commitments yet, the Bulldogs have been rewarded by shooting up the list for many of their top targets in the country.
And one of those players, who has made some very interesting comments about Georgia in the past, just placed the Bulldogs inside his top eight schools.
NEWS: Buford (Ga.) 4-star ATH Tyriq Green has trimmed his list to 8 schools.

4-star ATH Tyriq Green
Tyriq Green is a four-star ATH from Buford, GA. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Green is the No. 164 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 10 ATH in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 22 player from Georgia.
Green released his top eight schools on Saturday, and Georgia made the cut according to Chad Simmons with On3. Joining Georgia in Green's top eight are Auburn, Florida State, Miami (FL), Tennessee, USC Ohio State and Florida. While there are many great programs on this list that UGA will have to battle, it appears that the Bulldogs might be the team to beat.
Green recently was in Athens on a visit during Georgia's second Junior Day of the year on Feb. 1. This even went extremely well for Georgia with many of their recruits, but UGA found some of the most success with Green. The Bulldogs didn't earn a commitment from Green, but he did share that Georgia "separated themselves" from the pack.
While no official predictions have been made in Green's recruitment yet, it does appear that Georgia is the team to beat. There is still a long ways to go in this battle and UGA will not be able to let up, but as it stands now, Georgia has a great chance to win this recruitment.
