Georgia football is back and better than ever, but just because the season has begun doesn't mean that Kirby Smart and his staff can forget about recruiting. It's unlikely that they ever will stop putting an emphasis on recruiting, but it appears they are quickly getting in a dog fight with a few Big Ten programs for one of their top commits in the 2027 class.

4-star Georgia CB commit is taking a look at some other schools
Donte Wright is a four-star corner who has been committed to Georgia since June 30. According to the 247Sports Composite rankings, Wright is the No. 77 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 7 corner in the 2027 class and the No. 7 player from his home state of California.
Considering Wright is a member of the 2027 class, it really isn't that surprising to see him thinking about taking other visits in his recruitment. He still has over a year to go until his recruitment officially wraps up, so the expectation was for Georgia to have to hold off some schools at some point before he officially signs with UGA. And it appears that battle is going to begin this season with some Big Ten schools.
According to Rivals, UCLA, USC and Oregon are three schools that Wright could potentially take a future visit to. It is a little concerning seeing these teams get involved because of their proximity to Wright's hometown. Georgia is on the opposite side of the country while these three teams are more in his backyard, so if Wright ends up deciding he wants to stay close to home then UGA stands no chance.
There isn't a reason to be overly concerned about Wright flipping his commitment right now, but that is a very real possibility throughout the next year as his recruitment continues to unfold.
