Recruiting is such a weird thing in college football nowadays. Players seem like they change their minds every day, even if they are already committed to a program. The one thing that is the most common with recruits today is them taking visits to other schools even after they have announced a commitment.
And that is exactly what is happening with one of Georgia football's commits in the 2026 class. Before diving into this recruit, it's important to note that this practice is not uncommon in recruiting today. While it is unfortunate it is happening with one of Georgia's top commits, the expectation is that UGA will still be able to hold on regardless of what schools they visit.
4-star CB Jontavius Wyman
Jonatavius Wyman is a four-star corner from Jonesboro, GA. According to the 247Sports compostie rankings, he is the No. 11 corner in the 2026 class and No. 21 overall player from Georgia. He also is the No. 134 overall player in the country as well.
Wyman is one of Georgia's five commits in the 2026 class, but it appears his recruitment is far from over. According to his 247Sports profile, Wyman has four official visits scheduled for later this summer. This includes Georgia who will host him the weekend of June 13, but Wyman also has official visits scheduled with Arizona State, Miami (FL) and Nebraska.
As mentioned, it isn't uncommon for recruits to continue to take other visits even after they commit to a program, but it is a little scary when it happens to someone committed to Georgia. But Wyman committed to Kirby Smart and Georgia last year for a reason. He clearly loves Georgia and likely still wants to play for them, he just wants to make sure one last time that he is making the right choice for himself.
And hopefully that choice is that Georgia is the right place for him.
