Four-star running back Jae Lamar is one of Georgia’s top commits in the 2026 recruiting class. Lamar committed to UGA at the end of June, and it was his commitment that helped propel Georgia up to the No. 1 class ranking in the SEC.

Lamar’s commitment has felt very secure since he officially committed to Georgia, but that no longer is the case after the latest report from Rivals.

4-star Georgia commit is planning visits to other schools

According to the above report, Lamar is thinking about taking visits to other schools even though he is committed to Georgia. Auburn, Florida State and Miami (FL) are the three other teams included on this graphic, so it can be assumed that they are the schools pushing for a visit from Lamar.

The good news is that there hasn’t been a visit scheduled to another school yet, but at this point it seems pretty likely that it will happen.

Losing any commit is bad news for Georgia, but Lamar is one of the worst recruits that UGA could lose. Lamar is the only running back currently committed to Georgia’s 2026 recruiting class, so if he flips his commitment elsewhere Georgia will be left with zero running backs in their class. That would be a very scary thing to happen to UGA, so Kirby Smart and his staff can’t let that happen.

As mentioned, no visits have been schedule by Lamar yet, so there isn’t a reason to panic just yet. But typically when reports like this are shared it’s only a matter of time until visits are officially scheduled, and that is what is most likely going to occur here.

So hopefully Smart can hold on to Lamar’s commitment, because Georgia can’t afford to have zero running backs committed to their recruiting class.
