Georgia should be more focused on what transpires in Jacksonville on Saturday afternoon, but there is a halfway decent chance the Bulldogs add to their 2027 recruting class. This is because four-star athlete/linebacker Kamarui Dorsey will be announcing his commitment on late Saturday morning. Dorsey hails from Hampton, Georgia, has 18 offers, but is looking at primarily one of seven programs.
Dorsey shared X with On3's Hayes Fawcett name attached to it that he will be announcing where he will be playing his college football at in 2027 on Saturday, Nov. 1 at 11:00 a.m. ET at Hampton High School. All media is invited to see if he picks Georgia over Florida State, Georgia Tech, LSU, Ohio State, Tennessee and Texas A&M. Dorsey has not taken an official visit to any of these places yet...
Having in-state schools Georgia and Georgia Tech among the seven is good, but neither are favored.

According to Dorsey's 247Sports profile, he has two crystal ball predictions to Texas A&M, including from Dawgs247 staffer Benjamin Wolk. Per the 247Sports Composite Index, Dorsey is the No. 3 prospect from Georgia, the No. 5 safety in the country, and the No. 41 overall prospect in the 2027 cycle. Keep in mind that Wolk gave Dorsey a seven out of 10 confidence mark in him going to A&M.
The one thing that does seem to give Georgia a real chance might be the day of his commitment...
Georgia still very much in the mix to land 4-star ATH Kamarui Dorsey
Truth be told, it may have more to do with it being the Saturday after Halloween than anything. It does make for an incredibly spooky social media graphic. That being said, in and around Halloween is always a time of great significance for Georgia football, based solely on the game it plays down in Jacksonville. As you can see, Florida is nowhere to be found on Dorsey's list of recruiting finalists.
If we wanted to cross any of them off prior to the announcement itself, maybe the coaching turmoil in Tallahassee and definitely in Baton Rouge could conceivably eliminate Florida State and LSU from the equation? Even though Texas A&M is the favorite, Georgia could also be beaten out by Georgia Tech, Ohio State and Tennessee. Hampton, Georgia is a southern suburb of Atlanta, for what it is worth...
Overall, let's be pleasantly surprised if Dorsey picks the Dawgs over the other six teams. Again, it feels like Texas A&M is the team to beat for his four-star services. The other big thing to keep in mind is the nature of his position. He is listed as both as linebacker and a safety on 247Sports. Over on X, he defines himself as an athlete. Kirby Smart and Mike Elko are also defensive-minded head coaches.
All signs point to Dorsey wanting to play in a power league, preferably one in the southeastern region.
