The college football world is unfortunately in the middle of a recruiting dead period, so that means Georgia football and Kirby Smart are unable to host recruits on campus right now. So now that recruits aren’t able to make visits, they will use this time to reflect on their recruitments and decide who their top schools are right now.
So a lot of recruits in the coming weeks will announce who their top programs are, and Georgia got some good news on that front from one of the top wide receivers in the country.

4-star WR Davion Brown
Davion Brown is a four-star wide receiver from Richmond, VA. According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Brown is the No. 151 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 21 wide receiver in the 2026 recruiting class and the No. 5 player from his home state of Virginia.
Brown recently named his top five schools in his recruitment, and Georgia made the cut according to Hayes Fawcett with On3. Duke, Syracuse, Michigan and Penn State round out the top five for Brown along with the Bulldogs.
On top of announcing his top five, Brown has also scheduled four official visits for later this summer as well. This includes Georgia, who according to 247Sports will host Brown on June 13. He also has visits scheduled with Syracuse, Penn State and Duke and plans to get one setup with Michigan as well.
Georgia did not offer Brown until Jan. 12, but he clearly was very excited to get this offer because he was in Athens just one week later meeting with the coaching staff and touring campus. This shows that Brown is very high on Georgia because why else would a recruit drop everything and visit a school immediately after receiving a scholarship offer?
There likely won't be any news that comes out about Brown's recruitment until after these summer visits take place, but for now it looks like Georgia has a great chance to win this recruitment, so hopefully Smart and his staff will be able to get the job done.
