3. Can Georgia’s defense force a turnover?
Georgia’s defense had a very strong game against Marshall last week. They were dominant up front and caused a lot of issues both in rushing the passer and clogging up running lanes. Georgia’s secondary also made life extremely difficult in the passing game as well.
But one thing Georgia’s defense did not do was force a turnover.
That may be hard to believe because of how much better Georgia was than Marshall, but they went a full 60 minutes without forcing a single turnover. That’s not going to cut it once they start playing better competition.
Georgia will be able to get away without forcing a turnover against Austin Peay, but it will be hard to win games beyond that if they can’t force turnovers. So the hope is that Georgia will be able to force a couple turnovers on Saturday to prove to themselves that they can do it.
