Back to back missed opportunities
Two plays stand out in the second half that could have won Georgia this game. The first is the dropped touchdown from true freshman wide receiver Talyn Taylor who would have put UGA up 28-24 late in the third quarter had he came down with the ball.
The second play came a little later in the fourth quarter when Georgia faced a 4th and one deep in Alabama territory. Georgia could have taken the three points to tie the game, but they ultimately decided to go for it. The fact that went for it is not the problem, but the play call was where everything went wrong.
Georgia decided to play fast after their third down play and hand the ball off to running back Cash Jones. The only problem is Jones is Georgia's smallest running back on their roster, so he should never be used in short yardage situations. Unfortunately that is what Georgia did, and they came up short because of that decision.
If either of these plays go Georgia's way they probably win this game, but a lack of execution and play calling in the biggest moments of this game cost Georgia.
