4. Florida’s season is over
Potentially the most exciting takeaway from Saturday is that Florida’s season is officially over. The Gators hit the road to take on No. 4 Miami (FL) on Saturday, and the game was never that close as the Hurricanes won 26-7.
This moves Florida to 1-3 on the season, which is enough to rule them out of College Football Playoff contention. And after all the hype that was built around Florida this offseason, it’s nice to see those dreams shattered this early in the season.
Florida does have a chance to ruin some seasons now which will be their goal when they play Georgia later this season. But the Gators haven’t shown anything that should make UGA fans nervous. In fact, the Gators might just be one of the easiest games left on Georgia’s entire schedule.
Georgia fans will have to wait and see what happens when these teams play, but for now it’s awesome to see their season come to an end in September.
