All eyes are now on five-star offensive tackle Jackson Cantwell, who is the No. 1 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class. Georgia may have just landed the No. 1 QB in the country, but those celebrations are now being put on hold as Cantwell has his commitment date of May 13 quickly approaching.
Not only is his commitment date coming up, but he also will make one final visit to Athens this weekend to check out the Bulldogs one more time before he makes his final decision. Jared Curtis will also be in attendance for this visit, so that is one reason why hopes are very high that Cantwell will pick Georgia next week when he announces his commitment.
One thing that is playing a big role in his decision is NIL. The No. 1 player in the country will always be making a lot of NIL money, but sometimes it's unclear how much they will be making. That is especially true for Georgia, who likes to keep these amounts as hidden as possible.
But Cantwell may have just leaked what Georgia's offer is in a recent interview with Dawg Nation.
"Well, I do know what I will make in college right now,” Cantwell said via dawgnation.com. “The good thing about that for me is that it is very very similar across all four teams among my finalists. That will not affect my decision, because honestly, all of them are so close to where it can’t really. So that’s something that is not going to get in the way of that."
Jackson Cantwell will make about $2 million if he chooses Georgia
The above quote from Cantwell doesn't specifically state how much NIL Georgia offered him, but he did share that all of his finalists offered an amount that are very similar to each other. His finalists are Oregon, Georgia, Miami (FL) and Ohio State, and his NIL offer from Miami was recently made public.
Pete Nakos with On3 recently reported that Miami has offered Cantwell around $2 million for his first season with the Hurricanes. So based on this quote from Cantwell, Georgia's offer would be around that mark as well.
This is great news for Georgia because they have been able to land a lot of elite recruits without making the highest NIL offer, with Curtis being the most recent example of that. So if Georgia is offering a similar NIL amountJ as Cantwell's other finalists, then this should increase Georgia's chances of winning this recruitment even more.
