It is never too early to tart talking about the 2028 recruiting class. Their recruitments may feel unimportant right now because they are only entering their sophomore season in high school, but it is important for Kirby Smart and his staff to lay the ground work with these recruits to put themselves in position for the future.
Apparently that is what Georgia has done with safety Giovanni Tuggle, who recently named the Bulldogs one of his "dream schools."

No. 1 safety showing a lot of interest in Georgia
According to the 247Sports composite rankings, Tuggle is a five-star safey and the No. 14 overall player in the country. He also is the No. 1 safety in the 2028 recruiting class and the No. 1 overall player from the state of Georgia.
Rivals did not specifically state that Georgia is one of his dream schools in the above post, but it is easy to make that inference because UGA and Texas A&M are the two schools listed in the graphic. So it appears Georgia is in a battle with the Aggies early on in Tuggle's recruitment.
During his freshman season in 2024, Tuggle appeared in eight varsity games and proved why he deserves to be the No. 1 safety in the country. During those eight games he recorded 39 tackles and a whopping six interceptions.
Georgia is expected to be one of the main contenders in Tuggle's recruitment over the next two years. Considering he is from the Peach State, there is hope that Georgia will remain at the top of his list and he will take a lost of visits to Athens throughout his recruitment. That is the next step for Georgia in this recruitment, so hopefully Tuggle will announce future plans to visit UGA for an upcoming home game this season very soon.
