There are a lot of things that Georgia fans could point to that explain why they lost to Alabama this past weekend. But former UGA quarterback Aaron Murray offered the biggest reason why he thinks Georgia lost to the Crimson Tide.

And unfortunately it has become a far too common trend over the last few years.

"You just cannot put yourself in - Kirby's been known for this for a while, like Georgia getting behind early and then obviously finding a way to climb back and win football games," Murray shared via 247sports.com. "And I just think the way college football is today, with how the wealth is spread out when it comes to talent, you can't just always rely on, 'Oh, we can just be a bad first quarter team. And then we'll figure it out. And then just dominate.' Georgia has got to figure out a way to be good in the first quarter, the second quarter, the third quarter, in the fourth quarter. Playing half a football game is not going to get it done."

Aaron Murray voices concerns over Georgia's slow starts

Georgia got off to a painfully slow start against Alabama on both sides of the ball. Their defense gave up 14 play touchdown drives on the Crimson Tide's first two possessions which included giving up eight straight third down conversions as well. Georgia's offense didn't do much better either as they couldn't keep up with Alabama's offense and handed them three free points after an early fumble from Nate Frazier.

This isn't the first game this year where Georgia started slow as they trailed Tennessee 21-7 two weeks ago. They also got off to a slow start against Austin Peay in week two as well.

Something has to change because Georgia can't afford to mount huge comebacks every week. If they continue to have these slow starts they likely will continue to lose games, so this is something that has to change this week against Kentucky if UGA wants to repeat as SEC Champions.
