Georgia football is entering their final preparations for their showdown against Alabama on Saturday. The Bulldogs are the favorite entering this matchup, but Kirby Smart's 1-6 record against the Crimson Tide is making it hard for some fans to have a lot of faith in UGA.
This abysmal record though could be a major issue for Smart as former Georgia quarterback Aaron Murray is predicting it will be a major distraction for Smart during the game.

Aaron Murray predicts major distraction for Kirby Smart vs Alabama
There is a lot of pressure on Georgia and Smart entering this game. They not only have to navigate the normal pressures of playing in a game that have major SEC Championship and College Football Playoff implications, but there is the added pressure of all of the defeats Georgia has suffered at the hands of Alabama that makes this game feel like a must win.
As mentioned, Smart's record against Alabama is just 1-6. Even if Alabama has been the best program in the country during Smart's tenure, going 1-6 is very bad. So Murray is predicting that this record and added pressure that comes with it will be a distraction for Smart. He believes that if the game is close in the second half that this record will creep into Smart's mind and distract him throughout the game.
Obviously the hope is that Georgia dominates the Crimson Tide from the opening kickoff, but that is unlikely to happen. In reality this game will be close throughout the second half, so Murray's prediction has a chance to come true.
But at the same time it's hard to imagine Smart letting himself get distracted by what his recrod is against Alabama. The past is in the past and there is no changing it, so all Smart can do is put all of his energy into Saturday's game and hope he emerges victorious.
