Georgia football has been the hottest team in the country on the recruiting trail over the last week. The Bulldogs have earned a commitment each of the last five days, which includes four-star wide receiver Craig Dandridge who announced his commitment to Georgia on Thursday.
While this run has been off the charts for Georgia, it still hasn't been perfect. Georgia has received a few pieces of bad news during this run of commitments as well, which included five-star running back Ezavier Crowell who just committed to Alabama over Georgia Thursday evening.

Alabama beats Georgia for 5-star RB
Georgia was named one of the four finalists for Crowell along with Alabama, Auburn and Texas. All four programs hosted Crowell on an official visit throughout the past month, with Georgia bringing Crowell on his visit on May 30. Unfortunately this visit did not go well enough for UGA as Crowell will be heading to SEC rival Alabama to play his college football.
While this loss does sting, it was expected even after he visited Georgia at the end of May. The Bulldogs definitely had a chance early on in this recruitment, but the consensus has been for quite some time now that Alabama was the leader for Crowell. So this news did not catch anyone at Georgia by surprise.
Georgia also is now expecting some good news from fellow five-star running back Derrek Cooper in the near future. Cooper is scheduled to announce his commitment on July 12, and just a few days ago the Bulldogs received an official prediction in their favor to win this recruitment.
So while it isn't fun losing any recruitment to Alabama, especially one of this magnitude, it isn't the end of the world because Georgia is just a couple weeks away from potentially adding a five-star running back of their own to their recruiting class.
